Groundbreaking beyond housing

A Milestone for Broward County

On a meaningful day in the Historic Sistrunk District, community leaders, supporters, partners, and advocates gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Lofts on 6th — a transformative development designed to expand affordable senior housing while strengthening services for older adults across Broward County.

This project represents more than construction. It represents dignity, stability, and hope for seniors who deserve safe housing and a supportive community.

Through the partnership between Green Mills Holdings and The Pantry of Broward, Lofts on 6th is becoming a lasting investment in the future of Broward County.

More than a building.

Lofts on 6th was created to respond to urgent community needs with long-term vision and partnership.

As housing costs continue to rise across South Florida, many seniors face increasing financial pressure, housing instability, and food insecurity. This development is designed to address those challenges directly — creating affordable housing while expanding access to critical support services.

For The Pantry of Broward, this new facility will strengthen the organization’s ability to serve older adults and grandparents raising grandchildren for generations to come.

Together, this project creates:

  • hope for the future
  • stability for seniors
  • expanded community support
  • increased food distribution capacity
  • long-term neighborhood investment

Leave a Lasting Legacy

The groundbreaking was only the beginning. Additional support is still needed to complete this transformative vision.

Significant contributions to the capital campaign will be permanently recognized on The Pantry of Broward’s Legacy Wall of Transformation — honoring the individuals, families, foundations, and organizations helping make this project possible.

Every contribution helps build:

  • long-term impact for Broward County
  • safe housing
  • community support
  • dignity for seniors

We invite you to be part of building something transformational.
